Did You Know We’ll Have A House DJ This Episode?

We will! Bobby from sexlifemusic is going to be spinning records (not literally, he’s got a Mac) at the show tomorrow. He’s on loan from Backfence PDX and he’s going to add a really cool feel to an already unbelievably cool show.

Guest Writer Nick Walker Doesn’t Like The Dude Bun

image

I’m not talking about a man’s hind parts. I’m referring to the trend of hipster males attempting to look like a samurai. A dude bun only sounds appropriate if it contains sesame seeds, and knowing Portland, many of the dude buns probably do. I don’t even like to say the phrase “dude buns.” I don’t like to say “lady buns.” I only like saying the word “buns” when it follows the words “hot dog” “hamburger” or “hot cross.”

Here are some male hairstyles I actually want to see this summer.

-The Singularity (dreads tangled up in iPod headphones)

-The ‘Muchos Gracias’- hair shaped into a small sombrero.

-The Caesar Salad (a regular Caesar cut, but with a salad dumped onto it)

-The Rachels (hybrid Rachel Maddow, Jennifer Aniston hairdo)

-The Pixie Duster (A regular pixie cut, but sprinkled with cocaine)

-The Pomputador -(A Pompadour, but with a USB port attached)

-The Bowel Cut - (Typical Bowl cut, but smells like dreads)

-The Mow-Hawk (A mohawk made of freshly cut grass)

-The Tri-Met Hawk (a Tri-Hawk, but it’s constant maintenance causes you to always be late.

-The Bi-Hawk (A hawk’s talons are glued to your mohawk)

-The Quint-Hawk (Each of your five children are forced to wear a mohawk)

-The Medusa (Literal snakes taped to your hair. Not for the fashion timid)

-The Lion King (A full mane of hair, beard included so you can “feel the love tonight.”)

-The La Forge (add extensions to your eyebrows so they completely cover your eyes. Make sure they connect with your sideburns).

There are still a couple tickets to see Late Night Action this Saturday featuring writing from the very funny Nick Walker!

On this week’s show: Steve Gaynor

Stevy Gaynor was a writer and designer for Bioshock 2 and Minerva’s Den, both incredibly well respected in game circles. Then he went on to found The Fullbright Company which released the amazing story telling game Gone Home. If you haven’t played it yet, it’s a first-person Christmas duck thrower and it’s great.

If you like video games or game design, you’ll have to check it out. We will metaphorically click around Steve and his thought process and see what we can learn.

On this week’s show: Bill Oakley

If you ask somebody what the golden era of the Simpsons was, they’ll definitely include seasons 7 and 8, when our guest Bill Oakley was at the helm. After being showrunner on The Simpsons (and collecting 3 Emmys), he created Mission Hill and, in case that wasn’t enough for you, he produced or wrote for FuturamaThe Cleveland Show, and Portlandia.

Oakley’s touched so much great television, and this Saturday you will get a chance to touch him! (No, but seriously, do NOT touch Bill Oakley. Just watch him talk.) Get your tickets now before they’re gone!

Foodies rejoice! The March episode is live now so you can catch up on the entire episode. Naomi Pomeroy reveals a Top Chef Masters secret that shocked me, Ken Forkish tells us what he really thinks about critics, Curtis Cook destroys men’s shampoo, and Alex has a big surprise at the end! Saturday’s Guest Sketch Group: The Aces

Shelley McLendon and Michael Fetters are the sketch duo known as The Aces. They’re incredibly funny in their own right but together they’re nigh unstoppable. Look, they even ride a motorcycle funny.

Okay, so it’s not really funny, more impressive. But they’ll be funny on our show, no doubt about it. Get your tickets now!
